Scheduling a Webcast
Webcasts are a great way for you to get a consistent message simultaneously to many people in many places. Webcasts allow the multimedia presentations and interactive participation of a meeting, but without the extra time and high costs for travel. Even first-time presenters and participants react very positively to Webcasts.
If you’re considering producing your own Webcast, before you commit to a schedule, be sure you understand all the technical and other requirements of a Webcast as well as the following terms:
- All services are provided on a fee basis.
- To secure a place in the production schedule, written documentation for payment arrangements (purchase requisition or purchase order) must be received by SCOE.
- Payment is expected within 30 days of invoicing.
- There is a 25% fee for canceling or rescheduling an event less than 10 days from the scheduled date.
Typical costs
A basic one to three hour Webcast including planning, studio setup, camera and operator, high level technical support and testing, and equipment (video studio, server, chat host computer, printer, video laptop) can be produced at a surprisingly reasonable cost.
Additional equipment and services to enhance your Webcast are available and can be discussed during the planning of your Webcast. SCOE departments are eligible for discounted rates.
